Processional Planned to Honor Fallen Officer, Captain Justin Bedwell

On Tuesday morning, the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office, Bainbridge Public Safety, and numerous Law Enforcement Agencies from across the tri-state area are making plans to bring Captain Justin Bedwell home to Bainbridge from Tallahassee.  We wanted to share those plans with the community whom he loved and served.  To pay respect to Captain Bedwell and to show your support for his Law Enforcement brothers and sisters, as well as the Bedwell family, the public is invited to line the route as the processional enters Bainbridge.

As it currently stands, Law Enforcement vehicles are planning to leave the Leon County Sheriff’s Office between 10:30am and 11am and travel north on Highway 27 to Bainbridge.  The processional will make a right turn onto the Bypass.  At the traffic signal, vehicles will turn onto Shotwell Street and travel to Collier Street where a right turn will be made.  At MLK Jr. Drive, vehicles will turn left and pass by Hutto Middle School where Mrs. Bedwell is employed as a teacher.  The processional will then turn left on Sims Street followed by a right turn back onto Shotwell.  A final turn will be made at Scott Street as the processional heads south and ends at Ivey Funeral Home.

We are expecting the processional to arrive in Bainbridge between 11:30am and Noon, however, we will post an update on on our Facebook page on Tuesday morning as to the exact arrival time.

Please be aware that as the processional enters the city limits of Bainbridge, the flow of traffic along Tallahassee Highway, the Bypass, Shotwell Street, and Scott Street will be affected.  We appreciate your patience and understanding as we participate in this meaningful gesture honoring our Law Enforcement brother, SO-9 Captain Justin Bedwell.
