William Franklin Howell was born October 23, 1941 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Clyde and Lessie Murkerson Howell. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1961. Billy attended Troy University on a basketball and tennis scholarship and later served in the Georgia National Guard. Since 1983, pilots from all over the world trained under Billy at Ag Flight. He was Methodist by faith.

What a character! This man loved to see things fly…from airplanes to golf balls. He never missed a Sunday tee time and even planned his vacations accordingly. Billy loved horses and his ol’ dog. He was obsessed with his grass, probably from all those years spent on golf courses. Everything had to be just so with his yard. His friends were his friends forever and you were only a stranger once.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Ruthann Howell; his children, Casey & Tracey Howell of Cairo, GA, Dallas & Julian Howell of Atlanta, GA, Jeffrey Parker of Climax, GA, and Christopher & Nicki Parker of Attapulgus, GA; his brother, Tony Howell of Thomasville, GA; and his grandchildren, Regan, Barrett, Lauryn, Vincent, Jacob, and Alyssa. Billy was preceded in death by his parents.
