George Thomas Brown

June 17, 1934 – August 11, 2020

George Thomas Brown, 86, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020.

A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robyn Brown officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. George Thomas Brown was born June 17, 1934 in Gordon, AL, the son of G.B. Brown and Alma Lee Chumbley Brown. He owned Pine Hill Nursing Home where he spent many days entertaining the residents. George was always a “cut up”, telling jokes and pulling pranks. He loved people and especially loved to make them laugh. George enjoyed watching Georgia football, shuffling a good hand of cards, and anticipating who would take the checkered flag in NASCAR.

Survivors include his children, Ronnie Brown and Glynn Brown, both of Greenwood, FL; his siblings, Robert & Yvonne Brown and Gloria & Bill Harrell, all of Vada, GA; his grandchildren, Heather Chambless and Samantha Baxter; and his great-grandchildren, Ashton Baxter and Parker Beasley. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife, Linda G. Brown; and his siblings, James Brown, Donald Brown, and Sandra Brown.
