Submitted by Bainbridge Public Safety

On the morning of Saturday, August 1st around 10:30am, E911 dispatched Bainbridge Public Safety to an address on Water Street in reference to a male subject who was not breathing.

Upon arrival, Officer Rob Green observed family members attempting to administer CPR on a male subject who had no pulse and was not breathing. Officer Green quickly stepped in and took over resuscitation efforts. When Officer Maria Bonilla arrived on scene, she relieved Officer Green and took charge of compressions until EMS arrived.

The patient was transported by South Georgia EMS to Memorial Hospital where officers were told that he had regained a heartbeat and was able to be Life-Flighted to a Jacksonville hospital.

On Wednesday morning, Officer Green checked in with family members to get an update on the condition of the patient and received the good news that he was in stable condition and getting great care in the hospital.

Emergency Room personnel and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) thanked Officers Green and Bonilla and stated that their outstanding actions were critical in giving this man a second chance at life.

Way to go, Officer Rob Green and Officer Maria Bonilla…you make us proud!
