Jacqueline Thomas was born June 8, 1930 in Starke, FL, the daughter of Marvin and Margarette Knighton Thomas. She married Raymond J. Clyatt. They started their married life in Florida then moved to Southwest Georgia over fifty years ago.

Jacqueline was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church.

Known to many in this area as “the Avon lady”, Jacqueline was always smiling. It was evident she loved her family and didn’t mind sharing stories of their whereabouts. She had a peaceful nature and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and bird watching. Jacqueline kept a bag packed in case an opportunity to travel came up. If there was an ice-skating rink nearby, she was the first to lace her skates and freestyle with the serenity of a swan.

Survivors include her son, Ray Clyatt of Havana, FL; her grandchildren, Heather Nix of Meigs, GA and Carl Clyatt of Bainbridge, GA; her eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jacqueline was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Clyatt.
