Claire Sims Wright, 45, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Lynn Roberts officiating. A private interment will be held at Oak City Cemetery with Stephen Martin, Rhett Thompson, Rich Wynn, Alex Halimeh, Kyle Odom and Aiden Tabb serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Samaritan Counseling Center of Southwest Georgia, 208 S. Broad Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.

Claire Louise Sims was born July 4, 1974 in Tallahassee, FL the daughter of Charles Frederick Sims and Carolyn Louise Medlin Sims DiFiore. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1992. Claire was also a summa cum laude graduate of both the University of Georgia and the Medical College of Georgia. She worked as a physician’s assistant at Magnolia Women’s Center. Claire was a member of First United Methodist Church.

A heart of gold filled with love and laughter, Claire spent her days living up to her family nickname “Our Angel”. She loved her chosen profession, caring for others, that included every family member, patient and friend she encountered. Bainbridge and all the friendships and kinships Claire developed here were her crown jewels. At the mere mention of Harbor’s name, Claire’s heart would swell with joy and pride.

Survivors include her son, Charles Harbor Wells of Bainbridge, GA; her parents, Carol & Gabriel DiFiore of Cumming, GA and Charles & Merium Sims of Byron, GA; her sister, Candi Sims Pruett and her husband, Michael, of Augusta, GA; and her nieces, Morgan, Kylie and Anna Claire.

  1. Charles and his family has my sympathy. My husband , Jabo loved the Sims family as if they were his own and Mr Fred treated him as such.
    Claire was such a sweet young lady and she will be missed🙏

  5. So many lives was touched by Claire. I worked with her in Miller County. She was loved by everyone that saw that smile. Prayers and love to all the family.

Candi my heart breaks for your family.I remember that big smile and laughter she had as a ternaget.Just talked to her with Lesllie Maple not to long ago.She still had that big smile and a big heart of gold.Will truly miss her. Wish I had comforting words. So all I will say ,love you and will be praying for all of you.

  9. Claire was such a sweet sweet person… I remember one time calling her Claire Bear.. she began to laugh with her cute little laugh and said , “that’s what my family always calls me. “
    I was fortunate to know her for the last 20 years… Beautiful on the outside as well as the inside. My heart breaks for sweet little Harbor… May the lord keep him and guide him in this chaotic world we’re living in. Love and prayers to all the family.
