Margie Day Anvar

February 5, 1962 – November 3, 2019

Margie Day Anvar, 57, of Bainbridge, GA, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, November 3, 2019.

The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bainbridge, GA. Rex Kever, Andre Magueur, Frankie Lavoie, Jonathan Fierro, Jean Magueur, Rusty Day, Kyle Day and Joey Kendrick will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends immediately following the services. Memorial donations may be made to: Bainbridge-Decatur County Humane Society, 1250 Cox Avenue, Bainbridge, GA 39819 or American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

Marjorie Diane Day was born February 5, 1962 in Rockledge, FL, the daughter of John B. Day and Shirley M. Day. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1980. She went on to earn her RN degree from Darton College in Albany, GA. She worked for years as on OBGYN nurse before starting her own business Home Convalescent Care. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Margie was a loving, selfless person who always put others’ needs before her own. She loved to cook, especially during the holidays and loved buying presents for all of her loved ones. She loved the outdoors and was always found working in her yard, hunting, or fishing with the love of her life, Bijon. She loved the beach, not only for the sun and sand but for food as well. Margie was an animal lover and always surrounded by her fur babies, Braylee, Bentley, and Buster.

Survivors include the love of her life, Bijon Anvar, Jr.; her daughters and their husbands, Tara & Brandon Bates of Bainbridge, GA and Tiffany & Fraser Livingston of Starkville, MS; her beautiful granddaughter, Tinslee Reese Bates; her loving sisters and their husbands, Joan & Andre Magueur of Bainbridge, GA, Renea & Rex Kever of Quincy, FL, and Sandy Day of Bainbridge, GA; many nieces and nephews; her life-long best friend, Jenny Ratts Harrison of Cairo, GA; and her daughter from another mother, Meghan Vickers. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, John B. Day and Shirley M. Day; her brother, John I. Day; her best friend and partner-in-crime, Robin M. Vickers; and her fur baby, Braylee.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Kindred Hospice, especially her nurse, Kim Bowles, who was an amazing caretaker, friend, and confidant to Margie and her family and Sandra Haire, who always made the room a little brighter.
