What kind of community are we that we only have one person running for the office of Mayor? We talk about change and how we need to do something…yet we have let ourselves down again.

I think no one ran against him becaue they didn’t feel they would have a chance to win, Mr Reynolds is a sincerly good person, who does many things for the community already and works to help all levels of society. I am a young person and just recently realized how dedicated Mr Reynolds is with helping community members and even helps all walks of people battle addictions thru groups and treatment centers that He actually shows up to, and helps patients one on one. I think this shows the character he has and that he will serve our community and do anything in his power to better it.

Comment by myopinion — November 4, 2009 @ 3:48 pmI am not saying that Edward Reynolds will not be a good/great Mayor, and I personally know him - he truly is an awesome individual, but I do not know of many communities the size of Bainbridge, or larger, that have only one person run for mayor.
And, I am speaking to myself as much as to everyone else. I think that we all have become complacent… and I am sure that 6 months from now there will be people complaining (as they always do) about our city’s leaders..but, the very people who complain about stuff the most don’t do anything to change it when the time comes to step up.
I, honestly, wish Edward the best and I hope that he can implement some changes to benefit the city of Bainbridge. I apologize if my post seemed derogative towards him…it was in no way supposed to be..the post was directed to all of the people who have complained about everything bad that our city leaders do, and who do not recognize when our city leaders do good for other people, and was mainly asking: “Hey guys? Where are you now?”
Comment by Country Lady — November 5, 2009 @ 10:16 amto Country Lady I am very much in agreement with what you have said but must worn you that if you speak up someone will take offense and come back at you. I completely agree with what you said and understand it. Many years ago a good friend of mine’s father ran for commissioner here in Bainbridge and ask me to vote for him. I liked him and I trusted him and therefore voted for him like many others did and he won. Well time passed and it came time for the elections again and I asked him if he were running. Quickly he told me that he would never run again that he had had all he wanted and then explained. I now know and learned at an early age why people don’t want to be in politics. I myself was asked to run for some offices in the past but have never done so and unless I change my mine will never do.
