she may be ill or hooked on drugs but if it was to the extent that she didn’t think about, her daughters, what kind of care could she have been giving her patients?? Very Scary all those prescription in short amount of time means she was an addict BAD or that she was selling either way her patients were in danger of being under the care of someone drugged out of their mind or someone that was probably stealing their pain medication from them!!
I think the hospital needs to start random drug testing on their personnel to show that they are just as concerned as all of us are!!

Comment by Adjudicator — October 24, 2009 @ 5:14 pmAfter moving back to Bainbridge I have realized how judgmental a lot of the people in this community are!! I’m sure all of you know the whole story and everything that went on with this nurse right?? People are so quick to judge and try and clean up around others doors when all it takes is a simple comment saying I’m praying for her and her family. Just remember this could be you, your children, grandchildren or someone you love!
Comment by agarlick — October 27, 2009 @ 1:32 pmWith all ten counts against her having happened in the last thirty to forty-five days, it makes one wonder what suddenly happened to cause this behavior and had it not been caught so soon for just how long it could have gone on. Regardless, she will have her day in court.
Comment by Heidi — October 27, 2009 @ 7:29 pmNo, we all don’t know the whole story. Clue us in. Was she wrongfully accused?
Comment by innocentbystander — October 27, 2009 @ 7:35 pmIf she had ten counts in that small time, it had to be going on for a much longer period of time. She didn’t just start to do it, and yes she probably was addicted, but prescription medication is fed to people and is very addictive. Most people can get addicted to pain medicine by taking just one or two months of meds. It is no excuse for doing it, but like the others said Do not judge. They have a lot of things to worry about now and need everyones prayers.
Comment by thb973 — October 28, 2009 @ 2:21 pmWho are we to judge anyone? We are humans and as humans we make mistakes. I am sure that everyone that has read this article has done something in their past that they regret and would love to take back. Just pray for her and her family and hope that all will be ok for them. Our Lord and Savior forgives us for all the sins we make, so why can’t we as a community, friends and family forgive as easy as he does. His judgment is the only one that matters in the end anyways!! I will be praying for her and her family!!
Comment by praying_mother — November 2, 2009 @ 3:50 pmNo one or situation is above prayer, but shouldn’t we hold health care professionals to high standards. This is an educated nurse that who chooses to repeat this “mistake” over and over. Unfortunately, nurses are labeled by the behaviors of other nurses so her decision reflects on all the staff at Memorial and the Administration if not handled properly. Good for you Jan Bennett and Jim Peak for not covering up the situation. Now she can get the help and the prayer she needs.
Comment by alltruth — November 3, 2009 @ 4:45 pmPraying Mother, “sin” and crime are not the same and the jury should know the difference.

Comment by xxxxxx. — November 6, 2009 @ 2:54 pmI am very surprised at some of the comments. We complain about children robbing and stealing and say that we should get the “punks” off the streets and lock them away. And then we say that a woman who has been arrested for stealing drugs should get prayer. That we don’t know the whole story. Well that is true for the kids that are stealing also. We don’t know their whole story, yet we have no problem sending them to jail.
Every person should be innocent until they are proven guilty. I am outraged at the stealing, robbing, and hurt that is being inflicted on innocent people here in our community. But please, let’s keep some consistency. If the “punks” should be jailed, shouldn’t the “mother of the girls” be jailed as well. She was arrested for stealing also. It was just a different form of theft.
Please don’t misunderstand my comment. I believe that they all should be put in jail if they are found guilty. One should be treated no different than the other.
