County support of non profit firefighters

Category: Decatur County Controversy — Larry @ 12:58 am

taxed to death writes

I would first like to say thanks to all the volunteers. I have been in the nonprofit side of fire service for 12 years and am ashamed as a tax payer of what little the county helps in Decatur county.

I made an attempt to get a figure as to what moneys was available for fire protection and services and was informed that it was a government decision as to what money was appropriated to volunteer departments.

Open Letter to our County Commissioners

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 11:30 pm

Red6 writes

Decatur County Commissioners,

In light of the recent lawsuit, there are many questions that have been asked, and we the citizens of Decatur County would like some answers. I have been approached by several citizens that have expressed their desire for me to raise my voice once again. While I doubt the effectiveness of this, I will once again climb on my soap box and start anew.

We the citizens of Decatur county would like to know what is being done about the following issues, and when we can expect to see some tangible results. We are tired of the same old tactics being used time and time again. We are tired of being lied to, mislead, and misrepresented.

Issue # 1

Alert! Warning, Warning, Danger Will Robinson!  I live in the county, and I have for 16 years,  for two days now, there has been an unusual thing taking place in my area. Yesterday, there was a woman in a gray Buick stopping, getting out in front of peoples house’s and taking pictures of their yards and whatever happens to be in them that might violate the up-coming ordinance approval.(and it WILL happen)

Closing arguments

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 1:55 pm

fedup writes

The closing arguments for the firefighters lawsuit against the county start at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning, Monday, April 13. It’s at the U.S. District Court, 201 W. Broad St. in Albany. It’s easy to get to, take 253 N. to the stop sign at 91. Turn right on 91 N. and follow it to Albany. About a mile past Slappey Blvd. 91 will turn left. After you turn go a few blocks and turn right on W. Broad St. The courthouse is just a few blocks down on the left. There is free parking in front of the courthouse and in the parking garage behind it. If you care at ALL about this county you need to be there. Call your friends tonight and ask them to go.

This way you can find out yourself the FACTS that came out in this trial, not rumor and what the county wants you to hear. Several county “representatives” were caught in lies. Please try and be there, you might be surprised at what you learn about people you thought you knew and could trust.

I would like to thank the many people who responded to help my daughter who was injured in the car accident on Highway 309 on Monday morning, 4/6/09.  She is very grateful to all of the people who helped that morning. In particular, her family hopes that this message reaches the gentleman who held her arm and comforted her with prayer until the emergency responders arrived.

She is at TMH and will

City Garbage with Flood

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 2:45 am

Insider writes

Monday Morning I decided to ride toward the river to see how high it looked. I was very upset to see two trashcans that were set down at the Cheney Griffin floating around. Not only that you could tell there was trash in them. But now I am sure the tax payers will have to pay for clean up and new trash cans after they float away. The river did not rise over night. There is no reason the city could not have moved the trash cans away from the flood waters. What a disgrace and embarrassment to our state we are.

Support Law Enforcement

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 10:02 pm

cassie writes

I would like to start off by saying the citizens Must Support the local Law Enforcement in Decatur County, which includes Bainbridge Public Safety. I have been in law enforcement for over 20 years mostly with Decatur County Sheriff Department. I currently work as an Investigator in a neighboring City. Lets be perfectly clear. There has been “gangs” in Bainbridge for at least 12-15 years however they have only really became “organized gangs” within the last 7-8 years.

Yield Signs

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 1:11 pm

keepitsimpler writes

Yield - When written on a road sign this word is used in its VERB form which means to relinquish control or give over to another. In other words, it involves an ACTION.

Would love for Bainbridge Public Safety to sit just north of the Faceville Road bridge on the Westbound/Northbound side of bypass and ticket all those folks that continue to completely ignore the YIELD sign on the Exit Ramp.  I travel the bypass every day and although all the exit ramps seem to have ‘invisible’ Yield signs, this ramp is by far the most disregarded.
