Bainbridge Baseball

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:27 am

I hear a lot of people complaining but no one ever stepping up to the plate about the condition of our baseball program in Bainbridge. Is there any reason that we should accept season after season barely equal to or less than 500 at the high school level?

To the credit of our students, we seem to have a lot of talent greatly misplaced and misused. Are we truly employing coaching staff that has the ability to recognize and develop talent? Is there a reason that year after year parents are disgruntled but never speak up? I don’t know. Is it time to open this can of worms with a new athletic director on the grounds?

Why Do Certain People Try To Ruin Graduation

Category: General Comments — DAMAN @ 2:49 am

DAMAN writes

As a proud parent of two graduates this year, I would like to comment about the “people” who for some reason make it a point to act like total idiots during graduation.

All of the people in the stands were told not to yell, clap, or in any other way dissrupt the students who were there to receive thier diplomas. But I guess these “people” dont know how to speak english, or have a total disregard for the feelings of others.

What Was With The Sound System

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 9:04 pm

easyone writes

I was so disappointed when I went to the River Days concert the other night. The sound system was of such poor quality unless you were right up in front of the stage. I had relatives come here from out of town to this event and ohhhhhhh was I so disappointed for what I had invited them to endure.

Job Fair a success?

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 4:40 am

I had to comment on this article because it behooves me how officials of Bainbridge can hide behind the truth… Truly we can’t think that this job fair was a success unless your definition for success is different from mine. This was far from success and a waste of time!

New Coach, New Scoreboard, New Spirit

First, I would like to say welcome to the new coach and I am glad that Bainbridge continues to support the Bearcats. However, as an educator in Bainbridge I am less concerned with the Bearcats getting a new scoreboard when graduation “scores” are so low. Decatur County Schools only see about a 70% graduation rate. That may sound like a lot, but when you think that 3 out of 10 high school students will not graduate and not have that stepping stone into college-what is their potential in life?

Category: General Comments — -Anonymous @ 3:53 am

received by email regarding incident

First, let me say it is my understanding that Charlie Johnson has not been arrested for this incident and is still hiding from authorities. Please, if any one knows his whereabouts please notify police.

I am a family member of the victim and I am very upset at the way that the motel handled the incident.

Death penalty for child rapist.

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:30 am

DE writes

As a grandfather of two precious grandchildren and two more on the way just to think about the monsters who prey upon children makes me nauseous to where I literally feel like I want to puke.

I am not addressing those circumstances where an 18 year old has physical consentual contact with a 16 year old. I am speaking of the twisted sick freaks that do the unthinkable to our most innocent of all gifts, the children.

Beautiful river, not for long

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 7:02 pm

hwhite writes

Last evening my husband and I decided to take our boat out on the river for a short time before it was dark. As always we were just in awe of the beauty and the feeling of home the river gave off. It is early in the river activity season and already we saw can after can after can. The river is already getting junked up. This is true also of the launching area of the boat basin, not to mention the broken glass. I could go out and get a net and picking up after these people but I would have to be out there all day every day and still could not keep up with it. It takes more effort to toss this garbage into the river then it does to simply drop it in the boat in a bag until the boaters get back. Please don’t assault our natural resources!

The Red 6 Chronicals

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 6:57 pm

Red6 writes

The question has risen in many conversations lately about what happend to Red 6 and why has he been so silent.
In light of all the recent events, and follies of our government, why has Red been so silent?
What would Red 6 have to say about this, or that?

Deputy Robert Griffin

Category: General Comments — -Anonymous @ 3:21 pm

It is sad that the community has lost a man of such great integrity. He was genuinely concerned about the people in our county and particularly the youth.

May we as a community be reminded of the dangers that law enforcement face and be forever indebted to the family and officers in our community. Each day they go to work they never know what they are facing. Now a wife is without her husband, a child without their father and the community without a man who was dedicated to us all.

May we forever be grateful to the service Deputy Griffin offered our county and remember his family during this rough time.
