First, Let’s Talk Signs. then…

OK, so I am a little late responding to the Sign Ordinance vs Freedom of Speech? thread, but I have been off the net for a while. I tried NOT to comment when I saw that thread but I just could not fight it. I am going to ramble just a tad, so those who disagree can go ahead and scroll away…or wait patiently for your turn to tell me how ridiculous and ignorant you think I am. :)

Tider….you have noticed too, I see, that the sign ordinance is often enforced selectively. Where they may send an official police car to one house, using one excuse for having you remove signs, other signs might be left alone. The thing to do, is call from your cell phone and report any “illegal” signs as you see them. Sometimes you might have to call more than once. But I promise, this works. If you call it in, they have to respond.

“Patient” at the ER

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 11:34 pm

Blue.hustle writes

Tonight I was in the Emergency Room visiting a family member. When I arrived I noticed an ambulance parked under the bay area at the ER. When I entered into the ER to see my family member I was appalled at the fact that there was someone who was yelling profanities and threatening the nurses and doctor.

While in the room with my relative a woman who was visibly intoxicated came out of one of the rooms continuing to yell profanities at the nurses, doctor and even the police officers.

Truck Strike April 1, 2008

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 11:10 pm

jlaing85 writes

Bainbridge, Ga just like the rest of the country depends heavily on big trucks. In the last year fuel prices have went so high that they can’t afford to operate their trucks anymore.

What is going to happen when there are no trucks to bring groceries to the grocery store, medications to the drug stores, or gas to the gas stations?

Door to door scam artists

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 12:32 am

hometown girl writes

When “salespeople” come to my house selling magazines, cleaning products or whatever, I immediately ask for a badge or registration from the city saying they work for a licensed business. Of course nobody has one so my door is closed before they even begin the pitch.

Comment on Juvenile Punks?

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:34 am

All the businesses in the Winn Dixie Shopping Center have dealt with these little punks long enough. They really need to find out there are real consequences for their actions.

Is CityNet Necessary

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:19 am

I work for at&t in Bainbridge which makes this letter look like a big conflict of interest, but knowing the business of communications like I do, I wanted to share some information. The Tifton Gazette reports their problems of keeping CityNet funded.

Dog-napping with Breeding Assault

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 1:17 am

commentator writes

It breaks my heart anytime I hear about an animal being mistreated or abused. What is worse, though, is when an animal is removed, abused, then dumped back at the residence when it is of no more use to the “dog-nappers”!
