How ’bout them Dawgs…

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:28 am

whereinfocomesfrom writes

Finally got the monkey off our backs and got a top ten BCS and National ranking out of it. Just like the Cats, the Dawgs know they can beat anyone right now! For all the naysayers…42-30! 6 sacks on Super Tebow! Stafford with 3 Td’s and Moreno rushes for 188 yards. Awesome, just plain awesome. Moreno will soon be, maybe during the Troy game, the second all time freshman runner only behind Herschel Walker!

What a ballgame!! Congratulations, Bearcats! Coaches, Staff and community.
After spotting Americus 21 by mid-quarter 1, Bainbridge clawed back to take the lead in the 4th quarter and win going away!! I was caught at home tonight listening on radio to our South Panola win number 69 in a row as well as heard Internet radio for the Bearcats game. What a game!

Col. Gary Breedlove, U. S. Air Force JROTC instructor at Bainbridge High School, received the Outstanding Aerospace Educator of 2007 award.

In so many posts on here we speak of the younger generation and how they are slipping into deliquency and a tailspin into future adult criminal records.

Bearcats are a Force

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 3:22 am

biff_tannen writes

What a force to be reckoned with. It has been very exciting to see what Coach Woods has done, and just in a yr. and its not over.  The offense is finally unpredictable. The defense is all over the field causing the opposing offense to crumble. The kicking game is working in all areas. If you haven’t been out to see the Cats in action, come out on November 9 as the Bearcats take on the Thomas Co. Central Yellow Jackets.

Kudos (Meridian Couple Rescued)

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 5:24 am

ketil writes

Kudos to the sheriff’s department responding to the lost couple from Meridian MS in a caring, compassionate manner.

I don’t think our law enforcement officers get enough praise for what they do. They often go above and beyond the call of duty.

High Speed Internet In Rural Decatur County

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 5:24 am

thb973 writes

I live in the Flint River Hights area of Bainbridge and cant understand why we cant get DSL or Cable internet in these areas.

With the large industrial bussiness in the West Bainbridge area such as Dollar Farms, Elberta Crate, FRM, and others why couldnt we have it just 2 miles away? There are people living at the lake and in Whigham who have high speed internet without a satelite and I dont see why our county isnt more spread with this service

Dear County Commissioners,

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 2:38 am

OK, you have stood by and listened long enough. Article Here
Enough is Enough (and we’re not talking about loitering here)

Isn’t it time to hear directly from ALL the parties involved in all this mess and get to the truth?

Isn’t it time to express the outrage you feel and do something about it?
I believe your constituents will tell you just that.

Trash along our roadways

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 4:58 am

Ask-Kicker writes

The trash along our roadways are just sad. Some of the people here in Bainbridge throws out their trash like its ok to do. I’ve never seen so many litterbugs in my life.

I’m new to area and just can’t take how dirty Bainbridge is. Take a drive to across the line into Havana and see how clean it is. Why can’t Bainbridge be that clean

I have a couple of questions. Does the city or the county issue community service when someone gets into trouble. A lot of places uses community service to keep these areas clean.

My second question is, can someone give me a number of a volunteer clean up organization here in Bainbridge? I’m willing to get out there and help clean up our city and county myself on the weekend but I do not know who to contact.

wondering about the semi accident

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 1:33 am

ihearya writes

When the fatal semi accident happened on 84 the other morning, thats all you heard about. So many questions in our heads wondering who was at fault. Now we dont hear anything. Myself as well as alot of other people are wondering whats going on.

You hear so many things and dont really know what is the truth. What really bothers me is that he left the accident, didnt even bother to stop and check on this man. He might have been able to save his life, but who will ever know now. And there is no way in this world he can say he didnt know the man hit him. My god, all of the people that heard the accident, no way he didnt hear it and feel it. If he wasnt at fault, why didnt he stop?

Beautification of “our” town

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 1:31 am

c.mccook writes

Just wondering if anyone has seemed to wonder if the only place we seem to want to beautify is the downtown square? Here’s a place I think needs a little attention. Take a drive across the bridge to my side of town (West Bainbridge) as you come to the red light, look to your right.

That is the perfect place for a scrap metal place. I mean they have tried to make it look better by placing huge metal barricades all around the perimeter to hide their piles of metal which tower over those walls. First, it looks awful! Secondly, you cannot see to pull out from Flint River Heights road onto 84 because you can’t see past the metal “wall”. I think all of our town should be reviewed when looking at “beautifying” meaning both sides of the river.
Thanks,
c.mccook

Kids Can Be ……

Category: General Comments — Larry @ 12:21 am

I hope this incident/article is not be a commentary on where we are and where we’re going but I am fearful it is. (child was 14)
This juvenile article was added the the 12th.

Where’s the help going to come from?
DEFACs?
Juvenile Justice?
Local Government?
Our Churches?

Who should take the lead to make something happen?
Certainly will not be our state or federal government.
Seems to me if everyone waits for someone else, it will continue only to get worse.

Get out and do your civic duty - register to vote and then spend five minutes at the polls voting. Your voice does make a difference.
