I was wondering if anyone seen the news in Thomasville. The people have finally managed to get air conditioners on their buses. By next year they will all have a/c. They said that for now all they could do is give the kids water to try to make them comfortable. Whats going on here in our great little town. I think our kids are just as important and special to us. Its time we all ban together and make this thing happen. Money is spent on everything else here, why not our kids.

My Husband and I along with our preteen daughter thought that we would enjoy a quiet evening here in town, by enjoying dinner and then catching a movie. I have heard of bad nights at the movies but Friday night was ridiculous.

When we pull up there are between 20 and 30 kids just hanging out in the parking lot, not in line to see a movie but just standing around talking in the road anywhere they pleased, making it difficult to even park.

I am hoping to get some answers.
I wonder how some people get convicted of a crime and get the max punishment and then others such as Christopher Whitley walks away and never faces any punishment.

Our local law enforcement bust their rear ends to catch these people and put them in jail, the District Attorney’s do their job and go to court with a slam dunk case. Then, for whatever reason, the judge sees fit to give this person a slap on the wrist, even though he has already proven to everyone that he does not want to change or have a better life, he has the record that proves that.

I was looking at the upside down SUV this morning on B-GA.com….had not thought about it..but here is a warning I calculated a while back…if my math is right…which i think it is…
Your average hunter using a 308 winchester rifle, shooting a 168gr bullet at a deer has 2896 foot pounds of energy at his disposal to bring home the bacon. In more conventional terms for the ballistically challenged: the bullet weights .024 lb and is going 1900 mph….2786 feet per second. When the bullet hits an animal it mushrooms and transfers energy into the target causing damage and usually a very quick demise.

Football is a big part of life in this area, and I know how it is a rite of passage for some of the young men in this area. Therefore the position of football coach is a very important position.

I’ve spoken to a few players and their enthusiasm for the new coach was obvious, and one mentioned how he visited and spent time with them away from practice. I then saw the story where he visited the recreation teams and spoke to them.

Why is it that Decatur County schools require baby wipes, band-aids, paper towels, and clorox wipes for school? When other counties for example (Bibb county) do not require it for school. Where are our taxes going too? Is there not a school nurse for band-aids or are the teachers also nurses also?

I am not pointing out any particular place of business. Maybe it is just me but I believe that people in general are less courteous than decades ago.

What is the Geogia law on 4 lane highways with a median such as 27 north. Do all 4 lanes have to stop? I do know this law varies from state to state.

I’ve been quiet…perhaps too long. So now I have to ask a few questions.

What caused Commisioner Battle to walk out? Shouldn’t that be foremost in our minds? Obviously there was a conflict.

Shouldn’t we as taxpayers be allowed to know who received the bonuses? It is after all, our money.

Public Safety has been very busy this summer dealing with juveniles late at night.

Any thoughts on if we should have a curfew?
Under 16 and off the streets by midnight?

And what can we do about the juvenile shoplifting?
We do not receive reports regarding juvenile shoplifting to post, but the problem is tremendous. Lately the shoplifting calls have been several times each day.
