Last time it was $175,000. How much this time?
On Tuesday, Decatur County, Decatur County Fire and Rescue, “retired” County Adminitrator Jim Bramblett and EMS Director Bill Hogan were named in a suit by those “Darn Whistleblowing Firemen”. Jim Bramblett and Bill Hogan, who was acting Fire Chief at the time, were both named personally. The suit is asking for a judgement for actual damages, mental anquish and punitive damages, all to be determined by the jury.

What does Bainbridge and Decatur County have to say for itself concerning the past 12 months?
What do we collectively have to “look forward to” in 2007?

Merry Christmas to everyone. Right before I was to begin my morning message, my wife informed me that her purse was missing from her vehicle. I asked her if she had locked the doors and she said that she thought so. I asked her to call the neighbors and see if they were missing anything from their vehicles. Unfortunately, yes they were, as were many other residents in the Riverchase neighborhood. I believe a total of six homes were burglarized, with a brand new four wheeler being taken from one home.

Somehow, I could not but help be reminded of the marina being built and knowing we need more officers on the street. Add that to the fact that every time someone in Decatur County & the City of Bainbridge get arrested, they are back out on the street the same day in many cases. This board has been filled with threads about crime and bad neighborhoods lately. I could think of better ways to spend our tax dollars to be quite honest with you.

If You Don’t Have A Garage, Make Sure To Lock Your Vehicle Doors!!!

I am glad to see that Bainbridge is finally getting a marina. But come on, how many 60 and 40 foot boats go up and down the river? The 60 and 40 foot boats get 18 slips each and 20 foot boats only get 6. There are more than six 20 foot boats in Bainbridge. I don’t see how this is going to benefit the citizens who utilize the river every weekend.

Well it looks like we are on the Highway to Hell again, Hell on the right track, seems like we good people of Bainbridge have gotten BPS down there on Broughton Street working the area.

And to tell you the truth it has been nice to drive in the area, and see the improvement that are going on. Yes there are good people who live there and the should not be made to live with the devil in his den of hell. What I would like to know is what took so long, Larry stated we are giving it back to the good people well hell why did they let it go in the first place.

Now they are making arrest in the area, and that is good the only way to keep the devil back is to say get back devil I know you are there. So I hope this is not a one time thing, and everything goes back to the way it was, and if it does we will all be living in the devils den.

Just rolling along here, gald to see the police department is out there doing something for once, other than wasting time and gas. See look we done had us a munder down there, so the devil is a playing, gald to see they got some one arrested for this, could be more people like him in the area. So we should all still drive with our doors locked, and are hands on our guns.

And to play it real safe keep your Bible on the the dash board, and hope and pray that BPS want lock you up for keeping yourself and love ones safe while trying to drive around town.

So good job to Larry and BPS for getting down there and getting something done for all of us.

re: Monday arrest

That is a serious-looking weapon the recently arrested goon had been brandishing as he rode his bike around town. Apparently he is quite young but none-the-less a career criminal with “a multitude of past felony charges”. Don’t you wonder how Nathaniel Griffin attained the pistol ….. reckon he had a job, saved his money and purchased it legally?

Thanks to law enforcement a few bad guys and one gun are off our streets at least temporarily. Let’s hope these charges will send Griffin to visit his brother at the big house for a long time. But, how many more goons with guns are roaming about?

Larry, here is a suggestion, because I believe the goons get kicks from seeing their street names, or gang names in print or otherwise recognized - Only refer to them by names on their birth certificates. The pseudonyms note affiliation with gangs and the hierarchy within. Give them no validation for that.

Thanks for the article Larry, it is refreshing to hear that things may be a’ changin’. This is a situation like if a parent does not stay on top of things and enforce their rules, a child will resist any assertion of authority later. Perhaps if things would be stayed on then there would not be this resistance…it could have been just that one case, but by all means make an example of this fellow who refused to move and stay on this Broughton Street clean up consistantly. I am very glad Public Safety is coming over and working on this. Do they not use the outpost near the apartments in that block at all?

While I have always enjoyed the totality of thoughts expressed in this forum, et.al., I am concerned that the trend lately seems to be somewhat of “religious (aka organized) thought process”. Is this forum becoming a “clearing-house” for such? I have always tolerated freedom of thought; regardless of what that might be. While I also agree in such ideas via the written word; the multitude of religious slanted comments here have me wondering. MANY opinions about countless topics have been discussed here. That is nice and of course appropriate. Why don’t we all just cut the religion out of the topic and stick to the facts at hand? I have my convictions and you have yours. Let’s leave it at that. If some need more then please IM or mail your comments via E-Mail to those who are in need of same. A show of emotion solves nothing .

I was wondering how long it was going to take for this to hit the site. I must say, I am suprised that it took most of the day.

I have a lot of mixed feeling about this. There’s a lot of families that will be affected. I just hope there won’t be many people loosing their jobs, or having to take paycuts. This is going to cause stress this holiday season for some familes.

As a previous member of the House of Living Water I would like to testify that I believe the allegations are fact. I can also state there are other victims. I have no intention of sharing gory details other than stating that David Barrett was and extremely intelligent, manipulative, calculating and evil man. Without regard, he alienated and devastated individuals and families.

I am concerned that anyone would suggest a fourteen year olds responsibility in this situation. She was an absolute victim, as were her family members, his family members, and all members of the religious community. How hard is to believe he manipulated a young girl when he was capable of controlling and manipulating adults to “his” way of thinking. Many of us, as directed by David separated from friends and family, thinking we were being faithful to God. It is devastating to see this truth, but the more we face it the more free we will be.

I want to bow my head in shame for being so blind but I force myself stand tall and acknowledge the truth; the good and the bad. I write this because the issue is more than the devastation of the sexual abuse. It is the violation of trust in God. It is the violation of trust in community. It is the violation of the trust in parents. It is the violation of trust in brothers and sisters. It is the violation of trust in self.

I encourage anyone who was offended by him to report it. You will be empowered and you will protect someone else. I do ask for prayer for all involved to recover from this devastating experience and I ask that you thank God everyday for revealing the TRUTH.

I just saw the article about the toy drive. Great JOB! I hope many kids will be happy this Christmas.

I was just wondering after seeing the South West Georgia Drug Task Force posting thier arrest, if their service was available to us. I understand that our Sheriff’s office and Police department are undermanned and I think this might be good for our community to have an agency like this at our disposal. Anyone else agree?
