Question

Category: General Comments — Adjudicator @ 6:34 pm

In regards to the “Critical Accident on Hwy 302 So.” issue, I see that only one victim of the 4 wheeler was lifeflighted to Tallahassee . Why were not both victims lifeflighted? Whose call was that??

grocery carts

Category: General Comments — hwhite @ 6:45 am

So we are basically using tax payers money to get solid waste to pick up grocery carts and store them until stores come pick them up where we are holding them? I admit some members of our community must use the carts to get groceries home for lack of transportation but I think we can come up with something a little better than this.
The stores are getting their business, where is their responsibility? I think the city taking the initiative to clean up and get these carts off the street corners is great but from that point on something is definately missing in the plan.
Just curious…it was stated somewhere I read that the grocery stores can go to this landfill to pick up there carts and may have to pay a fee, why don’t they always have to pay a fee? Are we recovering the dollars speant to implement this program? (just curiosity..I am not a cat…don’t kill me).
I guess this is why some of the grocery stores now have such a wide variety of carts now.

Too much is TOO MUCH

Category: General Comments — hwhite @ 6:23 pm

If anyone gets a chance, drive down russ street sometime (runs beside video warehouse beside winn dixie). There has to have been at least fifty people or more, over a dozen cars, and there are just about every weekend. This is the same house I wrote about previously that had an UNSANITARY OVERPOPULATION of migrant workers. At least this season the four port a potties are not in the yard any longer. Are there any city ordinances regulating the amount of people in one house? If so, why is a blind eye turned? The roads were clogged where we could not even drive through.

Just wanted to remind everyone that there is now a 3-way stop at the intersections of Gordon Avenue and Evans Street. There are stop signs and blinking red (stop) lights. I have seen MANY people run through that intersection without slowing down at all. Pedestrians (mostly hospital employees) have to cross those two streets, and it is very dangerous.

Dog Attacks

Category: General Comments — orewok14 @ 8:54 pm

I am deeply troubled by the story of Smiley. The poor little guy. However, one would think that after his first dog was killed by the neighborhood Pit Bulls that Smiley’s owner would have taken proper precautions to keep Smiley safe. It is unacceptable that a dog be chained in a yard where once another dog was killed by other dogs. I realize that accidents cannot be helped, but as pet owners it is our job to protect our pets.

Loose Dogs In Bainbridge

Category: General Comments — mmiller @ 8:52 pm

I want to know why we have loose dogs are running the streets of Bainbridge. Yesterday my 65 yr. old mother along with my brother was out walking the dog. They were almost attacked by a dog and had it not been for her dog getting between her and the dog coming “in for the kill” she would have been bitten. Not only did this dog attack once but after the owner got the dog back to the house (almost a half a block away) he came right back and attacked again. Instead of my mother getting bit her dog has multiple wounds from the attack.
She walks her dog two to three times a day because he must be contained in a fence or on a lesh. But she can’t take her dog for his walk without the threat of either her or her dog begin attacked. After the second attack my brother called Bainbridge Safety officers to the scene.
The funny thing about this attack is that it is in the same general neighborhood in which a woman was bitten by a dog just the other week. My mother was almost attacked by that same dog the week before but had a dog trainer device that made the dog flee.
Today the dog pound came out and asked my mother what she wanted them to do about the attack. Is it too much to ask that if Bainbridge is going to have a lesh law that it pertain to all dogs? Whatever the penality is for not obeying the law that the penality be enforced without question. Don’t wait for the dog to bit or kill a child or even an adult or another dog for that fact. If you make the laws, obey the laws and carry out the laws.
