Deb Writes

As a person who was robbed after hiring a person to clean my house I am putting this warning out to others in this community.  Always keep valuables locked or have a camera system because these people can steal from you and get by with it just because they say they did not do it.  I am one who found out the hard way…

  1. I was so proud this morning to read this story about one of our neighboring counties, maybe it will catch on here.

  2. I am one who found out the hard way that you just cant trust anybody to be in your home when you are not there because I lost a lot of money, medications and jewelry due to my trusting attitude. Never again though will I open my home to criminals such as the one I hired who cleaned my house just two times and stole several thousands of dollars worth of things in that duration. If you dont be very careful this can be you and they just walk away free to do it to someone else. I want to save another family from being bled dry by these type people who feed off criminal behavior.

This person knows who she is and someday she will be caught because it will happen again when no punishment was administered. Please be aware that we live in a world that consists of people who have no respect for others. The thief took a necklace that was given to me when my 25 year old son was killed in a car accident so my heart breaks over this but to her it meant nothing but an object to take and I hope this person will someday have to experience how this has felt to me.

  3. I think that it is a shame that you can not trust people to do the right thing. You should tell every one who that person is so no one else will have that person to clean their home. Just let let them do without money and then see what happen. That person must be the sorry person in the world. God has a plan and someday that person will pay. A person that steals is no good. She must be a criminal and I have no good though about her. May God bless you.

  4. Unfortunately, you must be very careful. References. Known trusting references. We live in an imperfect world, so we do our best to decrease the odds of us being victims of these predators. Church members referenced by other church members or referenced by trusted friends are of worth. Even then, go by your gut feeling, and although you cannot put away everything, anything of obvious value, especially cash, should not be in plain view. We earn each other’s trust, even those who clean our houses.

  5. I have never hired help to clean my home & jewelry is always kept in a safe & out of site. I also have a closet with a key to lock purses, etc; I have never had to lock up my purse tho. It pays to have references etc; I must say I do enjoy cleaning my own home & even thru Chemo & Radiation I was able to continue to take care of my home. Years ago I hired help when & always had trouble with food items, or jewelry missing. That was enough for me & besides I clean better than the ones that want to work for you.

  6. I have a couple of houses that I clean and I would never do such a thing. Please do not accuse the ones that does an honest work. I have very good references and expect them to be checked out. I am a deaf mute and a very honest person.
    Thanks

  7. Just wanted to say the person I hired was recommended by a person I trust very much but I guess she was home with this woman and did not give her a chance to rip her off. As for others who need jobs and are honest just know that I am not out to make you look bad by no means but I just want others to be aware that this can happen to you so be careful. Her name is (edit-LS) and just dont let her in your home because she got by with it this time and she will do it again. I also would never accuse anybody unless I was positive who it was. As for cleaning my house I only did it as a favor to someone else who said she needed the job and was trust worthy. Wow was I ever wrong….

  8. I had my own cleaning business and several of my houses I had the keys to them and would go house/animal sit when they needed me. That is aweful what happened to you and I would be so upset but next time ask for more than one reference and how long they actually worked for them. One of my customers was over three years because they could trust me and I cleaned!!! I would never ever take something that was not mine. I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. If I can help in any way please let me know.I can always use another home or business to clean and I have all my references for you to see. God don’t love ugly and she will have to repay and pay for her sins for being a thief in the end.
