On June eighteenth through the nineteenth, the officer team for the Bainbridge High School FFA (Future Farmers of America) Chapter got together for the planning of the 2008-2009 school year. We also met with Turner County High School for a little bit of chapter rivalry.
The two schools competed against each other in games to help build their qualities of leadership. Two of the games were the Human Pretzel and a pool relay. After everything was said and done, Bainbridge High School triumphed over Turner County in a fair competition. After the games, we got to know Turner County High School students and enjoyed the card games, trips to Wal-Mart, and staying up talking about hog shows and competitions in the past. And how could I forget playing with the camp's dog, Susie!
After all the fun and games, the two schools had to get down to business. We planned competitions, fund raisers, National FFA Week, and upcoming meetings all in a day's time. We learned new things and found out that planning and teamwork are the two main qualities that maintain a FFA chapter's success.
We look forward to the year ahead, and hope that all of Bainbridge's FFA members do too!
