An Open House and Ramble sponsored by the Bainbridge Historical Society  and local real estate agents will take place Sunday, May 18, from 2 p.m – 4 p.m. in the Bainbridge Historic District.

“We really want to get people to come out and see what the older homes  have to offer – the craftsmanship, unique features, and comfort,” says Rollins Miller, an agent with Miller-Griffin Realty.

Miller said each house has it's own distinctive taste and that's hard to find in many of the homes built today. Miller has recently finished restoring and renovating a home at 423 E. Evans Street that will be on the list of homes open Sunday.

The home Miller owns, a Southern Cottage, offers three large bedrooms and two baths, 10 ˝ foot ceilings, and other unique features that make the home stand out. “We added bead board walls in the hall and to the ceiling in the utility room and kitchen, a window seat, custom cabinets, we ‘resurrected’ four of the fireplaces, added a desk area for a computer, and upgraded the light fixtures to fit the period of construction,” Miller remarked.

All of the homes that will be open were built in the early 1900s. The prices of the homes will range from less than $90,000 to $379,900.

Refreshments will be served at many of the homes, so bring your appetite and a friend and see what the Bainbridge Historic District has to offer.

For more details on the homes offered contact Miller-Griffin Realty at 229-246-4750 or follow the signs off of Shotwell Street Sunday. A map will be provided at each house for directions to the other homes that will be open.
