NFL's Charles Grant Stands Tall

Charles Grant, NFL standout, UGA star and Colquitt native, stood tall for many reasons on Monday night.

The 6' 3", 290 pound, New Orleans Saints defensive end brought his "SACK" Success Foundation to the Bainbridge Wal-Mart.  SACK is Sustaining Awareness through Community Knowledge. 

One hundred area high school student athletes were handed $75 Wal-Mart gift cards on Monday night.  The Foundation's goal was to recognize and reward academic achievement for student athletes.

Charles Grant spoke to the students, looking each one in the eye as he spoke.  He said that he was told many times that he could never do what he has done, but he has.  He urged them to beat the standard that he is setting for them.  He told them to "Always thank God for what you have." and to "Keep good people around you".

The selected students were from Miller, Seminole and Early Counties. Bainbridge Wal-Mart also supported the event.
