Care to give your opinion? An effort to revise Georgia's juvenile justice code is being spearheaded by JUSTGeorgia, a new statewide coalition.
One of the JUSTGeorgia partners, Georgia Appleseed, is gathering input from stakeholders across Georgia about needed changes to the laws that govern children and families in cases of delinquency, child abuse and neglect and truancy.
To help in that effort, JUSTGeorgia and Georgia Appleseed are hosting a series of free, public Town Hall Meetings to introduce the organization, detail its goals and seek public input and opinion.
On Monday October 15, a two-hour town hall meeting for our area will be held at Darton College in Albany. The meeting will be facilitated by the Fanning Institute of the University of Georgia.
Audience members may include parents, business people, law enforcement, foster parents, victims of juvenile delinquent crimes, CASA volunteers, lawyers, legislators, DFACS casemanagers and anyone interested in protecting our children and keeping our communities safe.
We hope you consider attending the meeting and sharing this invitation with other interested parties in our community. For more information, please go to www.justga.org or call 404-685-6750.
