On Friday night, Public Safety Officers responding to a loud music call on Water Street found partying juveniles drinking. At about 2 am, Cpl Craig Carr approached the glass front door and spotted several partiers running out the back door of the home. At the rear of the residence, they found 2 individuals standing in the back yard and 3 individuals hiding in the storage room. Officers determined 2 had been drinking and arrested 19 year old Dana Turner and a juvenile for consumption of alcohol by a minor.
The owner of the residence, 21 year old Lea Kasey McNease, was identified as having provided the alcohol. When asked if anyone else was in the residence, she told the officers no. Inside the home, officers found 3 locked doors, 2 to bedrooms and one to a bathroom. After banging on the doors for several minutes, individuals came out of the rooms. 20 year old James Butler told officers "I am just doing what I was told to do, I was told to hide." Butler was arrested for underage consumption and Lea Kasey McNease was arrested for obstruction of law enforcement.

Deputy Vincent Edmond responded to a Boyd Road residence to a burglary. The complainant stated that 4 rifles had been stolen from a gun cabinet in his home. Stolen were

black Mossberg 270 with a black scope and 22 inch barrel
brown, antique style 410 caliber lever action rifle
a .22 caliber rifle with faded dark wood
Sheriff's Investigator Strickland is investigating.

On Saturday about 8 pm, Officer Pat Bryant responded to a Bainbridge Street residence in reference to a fight. Rodrick Hallmon reported that he and another man got into a fight. Mr. Hallmon stated that he was having a party for his girlfriend and the man began feeding his family first. When 27 year old Rodrick Hallmon said something to him, they got into a fight. Mr. Hallmon stated the man went into the house and got a monkey wrench and began hitting him. Officer Bryant did note a scratch on his forearm.
The man reported that he was feeding his father and Rodrick began yelling and cussing at him saying he didn't pay for anything. The man when he went into the house that Mr. Hallmon, his brother "Poo", and two other men tried to come in after him, so he got a wrench to defend himself.
Officer Bryant informed all that the party was over and told Mr. Hallmon to get his things and leave. After over 30 minutes of gathering his things, he began to leave. Hallmon got back out of his car and began yelling and for the resident to tell her mf boyfriend to give him the money he owed him. Rodrick Hallmon was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Sheriff's Captain Chip Nix received information that Terrance Baker was sitting on a porch at King West with a quantity of marijuana and a digital scale to package the marijuana for sale. Captain Nix, Investigator Redell Walton and Public Safety Investigators Alton Brock and Chris Jordan went to the apartments. When they approached Terrance Baker they smelled marijuana plus there was a bundle of cash in his hand. In a search of Baker, they found the digital scales, 1 large baggie of marijuana and 2 small baggies packaged for sale. 23 year old Terrance Baker was arrested for possession of marjiuana with intent, possession with intent within 1000 ft of a housing project and possession of drug related objects.

In July, a landowner on Hwy 262 reported a large pile of construction debris dumped on his property. Lt Rick Ashley responded and was able to track the debris to a construction job. The contractor stated he had paid Homer Pough to take the debris to the county landfill. Homer Pough was cited and mandated to appear in court. He failed to appear on August 28 and a bench warrant was issued. On a traffic stop on Oct 26, the warrant was served and he went to jail.

At Bainbridge High School on Monday, 25 year old Marquita Washington created a disturbance apparently because a BHS student had recently broken up with her. She told him "Wait till after school, I'll be in Meadowbrook". Ms Washington reportedly also cursed and threatened Chief Paul Gordon and Asst. Principal Steve Wooten as she was escorted from the grounds.

The BHS student's new girlfriend gave him a ride home to Meadowbrook subdivision. Because of the school incident, the student's mother had gone to the school and the 2 had followed her home. She stated that she saw Washington following behind them.
She reported that when they got home, Washington exited her vehicle and began cursing and swinging at her son. The student stated he tried to make it inside but Washington approached him and a fight began. The student said he thought Washington had something like a pencil or a knife in her hand. A neighbor broke up the fight went to call 911. The fight began again and his mother stepped in to stop it. With 911 being called, Ms Washington then took off.
Deputy Vincent Edmond spotted 25 year old Marquita Shunta Washington of East Water Street traveling on Louise Street and she was arrested for simple battery.

About 5 am Saturday morning, Deputy Anthony Mims responded to a Jones subject, the victim, regarding a domestic problem on Anderson Street in Attapulgus. When he approached the residence, Derronis Feaster and Demarco Peterson came out the back door. The deputy asked about Jones and her whereabouts and they told Deputy Mims to "Get the fxxx off of their property and take that bull sxxx back over to Dowdell's. He asked what they were talking about and Peterson stated, "Whatever you talking about".
The deputy asked if Jones was in the house and they both stated "No" and continued to curse. They were asked to stop cussing and they turned and walked away cussing. The deputy stated he need to ask them more questions as Deputy Spencer Mock arrived so they came back out of the house. Asked again if the Jones subject was inside the house, Feaster and Peterson refused to cooperate. Deputy Mims advised them that if she was hurt and in the house, they both would be charged with giving false information and obstruction of an officer.
Finally, Feaster stated she was his girlfriend and her name was Tineka Jones. He admitted she was inside and was asleep. Deputy Mims advised Feaster to wake her up so he could check on her due. Ms. Jones reported that she gotten into a fight with Feaster and had cut her hand on something. Jones reported they both had been drinking.
A witness reported she heard their fight. When she heard Jones scream and glass break, she tried to go into the house. The door was locked and after waiting they finally opened the door. She saw Jones in the hallway with her right hand bleeding so she left to call for help.
Deputy Mims arrested Derronis Feaster for battery (family violence), giving false information and obstruction of an officer. When Deputy Mims attempted to arrest Demarco Peterson, he snatched away and ran into the woods. After giving chase, the deputy lost him in the dark. Warrants were requested but not issued.

A Liz Felty Lane resident reported to Officer Demetric Stubbs that she was missing over $9,000 of jewelry from her jewelry box. Last seen several weeks before, she checked with family who stated they knew nothing about it. The list of missing items and dollar value:

On Friday about 11 pm, Officer Pat Bryant responded to Evans Street in reference to a robbery that had already occurred. The victim reported to the officer that he was walking east on Evans St. when a dark color Ford or Buick car pulled up behind him. He stated that one black male exited the car and began following him down the street. The male hit him in the face and took $12 from his front pocket. The victim stated that as he was on the ground, the car pulled up and picked the offender up. He stated that he did not know who hit him but said that one of the passengers in the car was in his class at Bainbridge High School. This case was turned over to CID.

At about 12 midnight, Officer Collin Hastey responded to a domestic assault on Avenue B. A 9 year-old boy had called 911 because his father was holding his mother down in the bedroom and hitting her in the face with his fist. He then told 911 his dad was leaving in a gold colored car. The officer found a female sitting on the porch with a towel to her face and a pool of blood beneath her. Both her lips were badly disfigured and bleeding and her jaw may have been broken and EMS was called.
The victim reported to Officer Hastey that as she was traveling home from Alabama that she called her husband, Michael Jones, who was apparently drinking and at Wal-Mart. She reported she told him that if he was stupid enough to drink and drive, he needed to drive his own car and not her sisters car that had been loaned to them. Michael did not like that and became angry.
When she and the 2 kids arrived home, he grew increasingly angry and she asked him to leave. Michael became violent and both children heard their mother screaming and ran to check on her. The children watched as Michael held their mother down and repeatedly punch her in the face with his fist.
One child began to scream and plead for him to let his mother go. After finding out the police were called, he finally let her go and fled the scene.
Michael Jones was not located and warrants will be sought for
aggravated battery,
2 counts of cruelty to children,
and false imprisonment.

Public Safety Sgt Ray Cox reports that at about 8 pm officers were called to Hall and Pine Streets for a fight. They found Shan Bailey attacking a female. When officers attempted to apprehend Bailey, she began to physically resist, even after being handcuffed. She was placed in the back of the patrol car and began screaming profanity and beating her head against the car cage. She was extremely intoxicated and continued to resist.
A witness reported that he had saw Bailey and several other unknown females in his yard "Rolling A Joint". When he told them to leave, 27 year old Shan Renee Bailey shoved him and a large fight ensued.

A female juvenile reported an assault to Public Safety Captain Jerry Carter on Wednesday. She reported to the officer that she had been struck multiple times with a metal broom handle.
The 15 year old stated her baby daddy boyfriend, 20 year old Dakota James, had beaten her. Captain Carter noted there were multiple visible bruises to her left arm, back and her left little finger appeared to be broken. The female also complained of head injuries.
The 20 year old Baby Daddy boyfriend Dakota James, could not be located and the case was turned over to Investigator Mark Esquivel.

Sheriff's Deputy Michael Cox was on Horseshoe Bend Road, about 1/4 mile off Hwy. 97. He spotted a huge pile of trash laying right beside the road. The deputy went through the trash and found numerous magazines with the name Irene Cason on the address label. Addresses included a Bainbridge PO Box and a Seminole Street address. The deputy reported he would contact Irene Cason to issue a trash ordinance citation.

A burglary was reported to Deputy Wade Kirkland at Bridges Equipment in Brinson. The complainant reported that someone had broken in and cut a hole in the warehouse wall. An $8,000 Bobcat Zero Turn Mower was stolen. The model is a Predator 26 hp gen 52". The thief apparently stole a homemade $1500 trailer setting behind the business and used it to haul off the mower.

A Dow Jones Road property owner reported a theft. The owner stated he had arrived at the mobile home and found that his metal 6 ft. by 10 ft storage building was gone from the back yard. He stated the only thing left was the concrete blocks the building had been setting on.

On Wednesday, Sheriff's Captain Justin Bedwell arrested 26 year old Juan Morales Garcia of Marianna, FL for 1st Degree Homicide By Vehicle. He was the driver in the fatal crash on Hwy 253 last week. Mr Garcia was also charged with DUI and Driving Without License. In addition to the fatality, a 2nd male was seriously injured and remains in a Tallahassee hospital in very serious condition.

A 7 year old was among the 10 kids charged with burglary by Bainbridge Public Safety this week. Last weekend, a laptop computer and $25 cash were taken in a break-in at Hutto Middle School. These items were stolen after the juveniles enjoyed ice cream from the cafeteria.
Investigator Chris Jordan stated that School Resource Officers Travis Martin and Eric Duke were able to identify several of the juveniles from school video. The investigation led Investigator Jordan to the names of the participants involved in the burglary.
Interviews led Investigator Jordan to discover a burglary several weeks earlier was by the same group of juveniles. He also recovered a 2nd laptop plus a number of mp3 players stolen in the first burglary. It appears most of the kids were there for the ice cream.
The ages of the offenders were 7, 11, 13, 13, 14, 16 and 16. Nineteen year old Kelly Devon Torres and eighteen year old Michael Dwayne Torres were arrested for burglary and transported to Decatur County jail on Tuesday.

A Vada Road resident reported to Sheriff's Deputy Michael Cox that 2 white 40 pound pigs had been stolen on the previous night. The pigs were in a pen and someone dragged them to his south fence, crossed over and continued south. The resident stated they were not yet big enough to process.
Oct 7
A female victim reported to Sgt David Cutchin that she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, Nathaniel Thompson, at their apartment located at 1732 Bethel Road, King West Apts. She stated that she and Nathanial were cooking out and 2 of Nathaniel's friends joined them.
She reported that at some point Nathaniel became jealous and beat her about her body, choked her and eventually stabbed her hip with scissors. She showed injuries to her face, chin, neck, left eye brow, chest, left hand, lip, and hip. Photos were taken of the injuries and Nathaniel Thompson was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Simple Battery.
Oct 2
About 7:15 pm, Officer Archie Mills responded to a domestic dispute on East Pine Street. The victim stated that Rufus Lewis pushed her down on the street and threatening her with a knife. Two witnesses stated that Lewis was yelling profane words and waving the knife around as he pushed the victim down the street.
The officer located Rufus Lewis and told him he was under arrest for disorderly conduct. A 2nd male walked up behind the officer and when he turned around, Lewis ran into his residence and took off out the back door and disapppeared.
About 8 pm, Officer Mills spotted 2 males walking down Pine and stopped them. One identified himself as Maurice Alderman and they were allowed to go on. A resident told the officer that it was Rufus Lewis but by then he was gone again.
Around 9 pm, 2 officers went to the home. Lewis tried to run out the back door but found Officer Mills there and slmmed the door. He ran to the front, and finding another officer, surrendered. Rufus Lewis was charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct, giving false name and information, public drunkness and simple battery.
