Sept 27
At about 11:30 pm, Georgia State Trooper Walt Landrum made a stop for a tag light violation on Highway 27 So at Simmons McIntyre Road in Attapulgus. The driver, James Butler, only had a CP license. In speaking with Butler and the passenger, Kevin Burt, Trooper Landrum smelled an odor of burning and green marijuana inside the vehicle. Sheriff's Deputy Brett Trammel arrived to assist.
Trooper Landrum walked to the passenger side of the vehicle and on the ground was a bag of marijuana on the ground and placed both into custody. Then he discovered nearby a container of crack cocaine. Sheriffs Captain Chip Nix was called and the evidence turned over to him. Trooper Landrum reviewed his patrol video of the traffic stop and he spotted the occupants throwing the drugs to the ground where they were found.
Kevin Antwan Burt, 24, of Havana, Fl and James Erskine Butler Jr., 25, of 127 Alice Lane, Attapulgus were both charged with possession of cocaine with intent and possession of marijuana with intent.
Sept 28
Officer Brent Haire responded to Hall Street for a domestic problem. The complainant stated he was walking down Love Street when Dominique Rodgers approached him with a board. She chased him down the street and began to beat him with the board. He reported suffering minor cuts and bruises from the beating. He told the officer that on Friday night, he and Dominique Rodgers had gotten into a fight and then on Saturday night Rodgers had shot at him several times.
Sept 25
A car backed out on Pine Street in front of a patrolling Sheriff's Cpl. Jason Williams. He stopped the vehicle two blocks later.
Cpl. Williams spoke to the driver and the passenger of the car separately. After several conversations back and forth between the two, Cpl Williams asked the passenger Erik Sirmons where the marijuana was. Erik reached into the back seat and pulled out a pair of pants. In the pocket were several 10 small plastic bags of marijuana.
Erik Dylan Sirmons, 17, of 123 Riverfront Road was charged with possession of marijuana.
Sept 21
At about 2:30 pm Officer Greg Brown responded to Laurel Lane to a vicious dog. A Georgia Power employee stated he was on a service call to replace a meter when a dog attempted to attack him.
He reported that on a previous occasion another the dog had attempted to attack an employee. He got into his vehicle the dog became extremely vicious and attacked his tire. The dog bit the tire and punctured the sidewall.
City of Bainbridge Dog Catcher was on scene and stated the dog approached her in an aggressive manner as she exited her vehicle. The owner of the dog, Angela Fossett, was notified by phone and in person by Public Safety that both of her dogs must be locked up on the property. Angela Fossett was also told that her dogs were not allowed to be unattended at any time, and if another complaint was filed, the dogs would be placed in the city pound.
Sept 16
A Cool Springs Road farm reported that their stolen semi had been recovered to Deputy Vincent Edmond, and he reported it stolen at the same time. The complainant stated that he had last saw the semi-truck 2 days before at 8 pm. He reported he had just noticed the truck was missing and was about to call 911 and report it stolen.
He stated he then received a phone call from the Welcome Center in Franklin, Kentucky saying that the semi-truck was there. The caller stated that he saw a white male and a black female pull up in the parking lot of welcome center about 7 pm the previous night, get out and catch a ride to the next truck stop. The caller stated that the truck apparently ran out of fuel and the two people abandoned it.
Sept 16
A report was made to Sgt David Cutchin for a theft by deception. A personal care home resident reported that in August he received a phone call. The caller asked him, "Do you know who this is?" the response was "No , I don't believe I do." The caller then said, "Ah Grandpa, you don't even know your own grandson, it's me Hamp!"
The caller went on to say he had been in a car accident in New York, and needed for him to send some money. He sent what he thought was his grandson $2000 via Western Union. When he talked with his grandson later in Nashville, TN, he stated that he did not call him and ask for any money, and that he has not been to New York.
Sept 7
A complainant made a fraud report to BPS Cpl Brian Boyett. He stated that he had purchased a vehicle from a listing on craiglist and sent a $4,600 money gram to the seller, Allan Willis.
When he emailed the seller, the response was that he needed to send more money to have the vehicle shipped because the seller's transportation was broke down. He did not send any more money and did not receive the vehicle. He contacted money gram and they told him the money was picked up in Green Acres, Fl. We assume Allan Willis of Green Acres, FL was the fraudulent seller or Allan Willis of Miami Fl at 2121 SW 24 Terrace.
Sept 6
A burglary was reported to Captain Brad Lambert by a Dothan road resident in Brinson. He stated that about $2,000 worth of items had been stolen from his carport over the last 2 days. The list of items included

Sept 5
At about 10 pm, Officer Brent Haire responded to a burglary on Hall Street. The complainant reported that her home was entered through a side window forced open. Reported missing was one kenmore washer, hotpoint dryer and several CD's, DVD's, and video games.
Sept 4
A Northside Drive business reported a burglary to Deputy Vincent Edmond. The complainant stated that a red A/C recovery system with digital screen on wheels and a red sandblaster had been stolen from a storage trailer. The estimated value was over $6,000.
