DNR to hold Silver Lake Open Mtg

The Department of Natural Resources is holding a town hall meeting regarding the Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area on Tuesday evening at 6 pm, May 20, 2008.

DNR's Commissioner Noel Holcomb will discuss the State's acquisition of the Silver Lake Wildlife Management Area.  it will be held in the Callahan Room of the Firehouse Center and Gallery on W. Water Street.

Mr Holcomb will provide an overview of the opportunities hunting, fishing and wildlife-associated recreation of the property.   He will also highlight why the Silver Lake property was such a high priority for protection for the State of Georgia.  Mark Whitney, Chief of Game Management with DNR’s Wildlife Resources Division, will also attend the town hall meeting.

The public is invited to attend and will be given an opportunity to ask questions following a brief presentation. Light refreshments will be served.
