Juveniles Throwing at Police

Friday night at the movies is a little different that it used to be.  Noisy kids sneaking in the back door, being kicked out, then hanging out in the parking lot, most of the time up to no good, is not unusual.

Public Safety Officers check the parking lot regularly as Officer Pat Bryant did on Friday night.  He ordered several of the typical trouble makers to leave.  They headed away.  A little while later they were back.

Officer Bryant got out of his car to speak with them again and they took off through the bushes.  Before he could even get back into his car, here comes a thrown beer bottle, almost hitting him.

Officer Bryant took off after them and radioed for assistance.  Several other officers were quickly in the area and searched for the 2.  The officers found them and the chase was on.

The 15 and 16 year olds were determined not to be caught, but Public Safety was a bit more determined.  Spotting them behind a pizza store, they chased them across the street, through Dean Chrysler's parking lot, and around a drug store several times.  They were finally grabbed.

The juveniles must be "regulars" in the system because they had enough points accumulated to be transported to Blakely after their arrests.  They were charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction and damage to government property.

Seems to be a great example of the need for some good ol' fashion discipline.  Apparently they don't get enough of it at home.  This is not foolishness, this indicates a serious problem, an issue of personal safety.

I wonder what tomorrow will bring if they are throwing beer bottles at police today?
