Thursday afternoon a group of kids must have decided they all needed bicycles.

About 5 pm, a resident on east College Street reported 5 or 6 juveniles stealing bicycles from their back yard.  The resident yelled at them and one kid dropped his bike as he ran away with the others on foot and bike.

During the next couple of hours, calls regarding stolen bikes came in from Camilla Street, Julia Circle and Woodland Drive.

Then about 8 pm, the son of the College Street resident left the house and headed up Gordon Ave.  He spotted the kids on the way and let his father know.  Evidently they were coming back to get the bike that was left hours earlier.  As soon as the residents saw the kids they called 911.

Officer Brian Palmer responded and caught the juveniles ranging in age from 9-13 years old on "found" bikes.  Four juveniles were booked and returned to their parents. The recovered bicycles and 2 scooters were returned to their owners.
