Litton Hines Saves Crash Victim

Litton Hines saved a life Monday morning, went home and changed out a car engine.

He told us God put him there and he did what he had to do. (We found him and spoke with him on Monday evening.)

Litton Hines of Climax came across a car crash on the bypass on Monday and stopped to help.  He found the car upside down and laying on the woman's head.  "I just had to get the car off of her." he stated. 

Ashley Nichole Finley, 21, was driving east on the bypass, north of the Tallahassee Highway exit.  Ms Finley's red Honda Accord went off the highway into the median.  She over-corrected crossing the road to the right side.

She went down the slight embankment and her car flipped.  Unfortunately she was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown halfway out of the passenger side window.

Mr Hines stated the car was laying on her neck and she was not breathing when he arrived.  He used his shoulders to lift the vehicle and slid her out from under the car.

He stated Ms Finley was purple and he pressed on her chest a couple of times calling out to her.  Finally, she cough up some blood and began to breathe.

EMS transported her to the hospital and she was then transferred to a hospital out of town.  We were not able to find out her condition but Officer Brian Palmer, who worked the crash, stated he did speak with her in the hospital and she appeared to be alert at that time. Update: Our sources tell us that Ashley is doing well. She has a broken jaw and some broken fingers.
 

Officer Palmer, Major Walter Landrum and Fire Chief Dennis Mock were all on scene and assisted the victim until EMS arrived.
