Major Bust for Public Safety

Nine arrests for cocaine were made in a major bust by Public Safety on Thursday night.
About 8 pm, Public Safety Director Larry Funderburke and Chief Investigator Frank Green led a team that burst through the doors at 1609 and 1611 South Hall Street.
The old Hicks Grocery and the adjoining residence have been continuing problem for drug sales even after a bust there several months ago. He stated he hopes this will now shut down the drug activity there.

Investigators Alton Brock, James Dollar, Mark Esquivel and Chris Jordan searched both premises and found a large quantity of cocaine and some marijuana. Assisting in the bust were Captains Jerry Carter and Patrick Thomas, Sargeants Ryan Wimberly, Michael Hall and Jack Bunting and Officers Pat Bryant and Demetric Stubbs.
Chief Investigator Green stated they found crack cocaine cooking in the microwave when they went in. Arrested were
