BC Serves 4 Counties through Adult Education Grant

Bainbridge College was recently awarded a grant to become the provider of Adult Education services in four southwest Georgia counties. The college will soon provide adult education services, such as GED prep, in Decatur, Early, Miller, and Seminole counties.

The state and federally funded grant is administered through the Adult Education office of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). The programs were previously part of the Decatur County School System. "We are excited to be able to provide these services to members of our communities," says Colette Galivan, Bainbridge College Director of Administrative Planning and Reporting. "Our mission is to help students achieve their educational goals." Debbie McIntyre, former director of LIFE (Learning Is for Everyone) Decatur County Certified Literate Community Program, has been hired as program director, and she will assume her position July 1.

County physical office locations and anticipated start dates are as follows:
* Decatur County: office located in the Bainbridge College Continuing Education building at 315 S. Boulevard Street, Bainbridge, Ga, adjacent to the Bainbridge Mall (new location), beginning July 16
*Early County : office located in the Family Connection building at 40 Harold Reagan Drive, Bainbridge, Ga, directly adjacent to the Bainbridge College Early County site (existing location), beginning July 16
* Miller County: office located at 96 Perry Street Colquitt, Ga., in the Board of Education offices near Miller County High School (existing location), beginning in late July
* Seminole County: office located at 203 E. Sixth St. Donalsonville, Ga. (existing location), beginning in late July.
