The Decatur County Farm Bureau has announced the winners of our Middle School Essay Contest 2012.  The contest was open to all 6th,7th, and 8th graders in Georgia. 

This year’s topic was “Georgia Farmers Are My Heroes Because…” This year our winners were: 1st Place from Grace Christian Academy: Mattie Winburn $100 Dollars, 2nd Place Winner from Hutto Middle School: Elizabeth Kirkland $75.00 and 3rd Place Winner from Hutto Middle School: McKenzie Findley $50.00 dollars.

The purpose of the essay contest is to encourage students to increase their level of agricultural literacy. A big thank you to all of our Middle School teachers and students who participated.
