Ten Bainbridge College students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) on Thursday, April 19, at the Kirbo Regional Center.
Michelle Griffin, Sydney Heard and Keith D. Sellars, all from Bainbridge, Myranda Clemons from Dothan, Ala., Luis Gonzalez from Meigs, Adrienne Jackson from Cairo, Carroll Johnson from Whigham, Joann H. Nguyen from Arlington, Sandra O’Niel from Climax and Patricia A. Washington from Blakely were all inducted into the honor society.
Ten Bainbridge College students were inducted into the college’s National Technical Honor Society’s chapter on Thursday, April 19. After each student received an official National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) pin by co-adviser Sheila McLendon, a family member or friend who most supported the inductee’s higher education endeavors was asked to come forward and be recognized.
Dr. Tonya Strickland, vice president for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Adria Belk, chair of the Technical Studies Division, each addressed those attending the ceremony. NTHS co-adviser Kathy Ketterer served as master of ceremonies, and NTHS committee member Cindy Dean assisted with the candle-lighting ceremony.
Members pledged to maintain the highest standards of personal conduct, apply themselves to continue scholastic achievement, strive for excellence in education, invest talents, skills and knowledge in their chosen careers, and endeavor to uphold their obligations as citizens.
NTHS offers membership to those who have a 3.5 or higher grade point average, more than 24 credit hours in one Technical Studies program, a strong work ethic, have been nominated by a Technical Studies faculty member and approved by the entire Technical Studies Division faculty.
