The Bainbridge Gymnast-A-Cats took the 2012 Georgia AAU Gymnastic State Championship title in state competition on April 14 and 15. Coached by Melynda Murkerson, the Bainbridge team competed with 50 teams from all over the state.
Winning the Prep 1 Optional State Gymnastics Team title, with a score of 113.575, Coach Murkerson said, "The team has worked very hard this year and all the work paid off winning the first ever team state title for the Bainbridge Gymnast-A-Cats. The power of praying together brings a calmness and confidence to our team and we give all the praise and glory to Jesus for this state title and giving these girls awesome talent and giving me the honor of coaching them."
