The Bainbridge High School Boys Soccer Team's dramatic win Tuesday was the first win in Region or State Tournament play in school history.
Bainbridge took a 3-0 lead only to see Northside Columbus bounce back and take a 4-3 lead late in the game. Bainbridge scored 3 goals in the final 5 minutes of play to take the victory.
Last Thursday Bainbridge entered their last region game in third place of the sub-region and needed to win to force a three way tie with Thomas County and Lee Co. to get a higher seeding. They had to win 3-0 or 4-1 to take the top seed in the South sub-region. Leading 2-0 BHS scored a dramatic goal with less than a minute to go to seal the number one seed(GHSA Third tie breaker sealed it)
The 13 wins (13-3 overall) this season is also a school record.
BHS hosts 11-2-2 Hardaway of Columbus in the Region Semi-finals this Friday at Centennial Field at 6 pm
