The Border Wars and the COOL Channels are pleased to present the ACTION GM 2012 Florida/Georgia Border Wars High School All-Star Basketball Game held on March 16 and 17, 2012 at Bainbridge College in Bainbridge, Georgia.

The Border Wars has been organizing events since 2005 that highlight the accomplishments of student-athletes all over the Southeast.  This year we have organized some of the regions top senior high school basketball players to participate in their final high school basketball game in a state vs. state match up.

The idea is to promote these senior athletes to college coaches and recruiters across the nation so they have an opportunity to earn a scholarship to play college basketball.  Action GM of Bainbridge has taken the ball and is the Lead Sponsor for the All-Star Games on March 17th.

30 players, both men and women, from the Florida Big Bend Area will suit up against 30 players from Southwest Georgia to battle for basketball supremacy.   “We started our Border Wars Series back in January ‘2009 with our All-Star Football Games in Thomasville, Georgia.  The response was overwhelming.  We were approached to do one for basketball and here we are,” explained Bobby Latmore, Game Coordinator for the Border Wars.

The rosters will be comprised of seniors who played their final high school basketball season in 2011-2012 and now get a chance to play once more in front of college scouts and recruiters who have not completed their recruiting process.  Players from the Georgia and Florida regions will be selected by their high school coaching staffs and The Border Wars All-Star Committee.  Rosters will be announced on March 6th, practice begins on March 14th.

On Friday, March 16th, The COOL Channels and ACTION GM of Bainbridge will be hosting the best athletes from the two regions in a 3-point shooting competition followed by a Slam Dunk Contest.  Participants can sign up at  There will be a $10 fee to participate in each event and is open to ALL high school eligible athletes in the Southwest Georgia and Big Bend Regions.   There will also be an OPEN DIVISION in the Slam Dunk Competition where anyone that can dunk a basketball and think they have game, can sign up for a chance to win $250 for the best SLAM.  Do you have what it takes?  Tickets for Friday’s event will be available at the door for $5.
2 games will be played on Saturday, March 17th with the women starting at 6:00 p.m. and the men tipping off at 8:00 p.m.  Tickets will be available at the door for $10 per game, $15 for both games.  Call 850-510-9677 from more information.
