Elcan-King Elementary held their Jump Rope For Heart event on Thursday, March 4th. The school collected $5,308.57 which will donated to the American Heart Association.

"With the economy like it is and the fact that we have one less grade level than we had, I was very pleased. All of our students did so well and we had several students from different grade levels that raised over $100 each." stated Coach Molly Blalock who helped organized the campaign at the school.

Mrs. Crews' 3rd grade class raised the most money. They will receive a pizza party. The school's top fund raiser was Emily Chambers. Coach Blalock stated that at the beginning of the fund raiser Emily set a goal of $500 and she worked very hard to get it.

Jump Rope For Heart promotes the value of physical activity to elementary schoolchildren while showing them they can contribute to their community's welfare.
