Main Street Broadband held their 'wire cutting' Friday afternoon opening a world of opportunities to the citizens of Decatur County.

"Decatur County is probably the first rural county in the Southeastern United States that will have county wide broadband access and that's something to be proud of. It's something that really serves as a model for communities not only in Georgia but across the country." said Mike Mies, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
Mies stated that Decatur County is the only county in Georgia to establish a SPLOST funds for the purpose to provide internet access to the county. According to Mies, this will create opportunities for Decatur County students, farmers and business.
Mies stated that they are currently serving 16 communities in South Georgia and will be launching the first Florida markets over the next 3 to 6 months. They continue to work on servicing the entire county areas including Brinson, Climax and Attapulgus in the coming months.
