Members of the Bainbridge High School Interact Club participated in Souper Bowl of Caring Sunday.

BHS Interact members Emily Ward, Carly Brock and Allison Howard at Walmart. They even had a little Super Bowl seeing which team, the Saints or the Colt, would get the most donations.

What began in 1990 by a senior high youth group South Carolina has grown. Since then, ordinary young people have generated an extraordinary $60 million for soup kitchens, food banks and other charities in communities across the country. In 2009 over $10.3 million in cash and food were collected and distributed to the charities.

The donations received by the BHS Interact Club received will be given to the Family Connection Collaborative Hunger Prevention Coalition. The Hunger Prevention Coalition provides food to those in the community in need and also the Backpack Program which provides food to over 200 elementary school children each weekend during school.

The BHS Interact Club is sponsored by the Bainbridge Rotary Club.
