Karen Moye, receptionist at the Bainbridge office of Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, trades a cap with long-time Farm Credit customer Stacey Smith on Monday during the Association’s Cap Exchange week.
Mr. Smith, whose family has been customers of Relationship Manager Tarrell Bennett for quite some time, said he saw info on the Cap Exchange in the fall issue of the Association’s “Wiregrass Land & Living” magazine.
Customers can go to any of Southwest Georgia’s seven branches this week and exchange an old, well-worn cap for a new Farm Credit cap.
Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, an agricultural lending cooperative, is part of the Farm Credit System, a nationwide network of borrower-owned lending institutions. The System provides more than $160 billion in loans, leases, and related services to farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners, aquatic producers, timber harvesters, agribusinesses, and agricultural and rural utility cooperatives. Congress established the System in 1916 to provide a reliable source of credit for the nation’s farmers and ranchers. Today, the System provides more than one-third of the credit needed by those who live and work in rural America.
