Joey Miller, President of Regions Bank, presents a check to Ken Bailey, YMCA Director. A portion of the check will support the Partner With Youth fund which allows the YMCA to grant financial assistance to those in need. No one is ever turned away from YMCA programs and activities based solely on an inability to pay. The check will also help to fund the construction of a school age child care center at the YMCA.

The YMCA is making progress as site work has begun on the school age child care center. The child care center should be open in time for the YMCA summer day camp program and will continue with afterschool childcare. The building will increase the capacity of the YMCA School Age Child Care program from 100 children to 250+ children.

YMCA Board President Elect Erwin Harrell, YMCA Building and Grounds Supervisor Frank Godwin, and YMCA Board President Bill Reynolds discuss building construction.
