Bainbridge Girls Take District 3 Tournament

The 2009 Girls 14 and Under Bainbridge Dirt Devils All Stars recently won the District 3 Fast Pitch Softball Tournament . The Bainbridge All Stars, with this tournament win, earns a birth in the 2009 State All Star Tournament that will be held in Videlia, Georgia on July 9,10, and 11.

The Bainbridge Dirt Devils won the tournament in two games. Game one was against Cairo All Stars with a final score of Bainbridge 12 - Cairo 2. Kristen Bennett pitched 4 innings Caitlyn Cato pitched one inning, total strick outs for the game was 6 in 5 innings. 
 
In game two Bainbridge had to play Cairo again and won it 11 to 1. Brittany Simpson pitched the second game and had 5 strick-outs in 4 innings.

Several of the girls were on the South Georgia Heat Fast Pitch Softball team took second place in the 2008 UFA World Series. They are: Morgan Powell, Kristen Bennett and Brittany Simpson.
