Tuesday evening, Jones Wheat Elementary School sponsored their annual Family Reading and Math Night.

Parents and guardians spent time in their child's classroom so they would better understand the new Georgia Standards that their children need to acheive.

Lindsey Buckhaulter and mom Tamara, spent part of their time reading together.

Dr. Larry Clark, Jones Wheat Elementary School Principal stated that it is important that those responsible for the students understand what the requirements are and that they provide the students with the support they need to accomplish them.

Dinner was the work of school staff and four BHS Interact students; Tiera Nixon, Jessica Ingram, Megan Ford and Sarah Burke.

Students and parents spent about 45 minutes in the classrooms working on computers, reading and playing learning games. Each were given worksheets to take home for practice in their corresponding grade.

Afterward they all met in the cafeteria for a hot dog dinner.
