Decatur County unofficial results do not include 70 provisional ballots cast. Typically there are a small percentage of these votes that are included. In addition, overseas ballots have until Friday at noon to be received. There may be a few of these votes yet to be received.
To be elected, a candidate must receive 50% plus one vote. Write ins are included in the total on which the 50% is based. For example, in the Coroner's race, if the provisional ballots produced only 2 votes, and both for Allen Ware, then Peter Bruton would have 9 more votes, but exactly 50%. There would be a runoff in the race.
