Bainbridge College math instructor Amy Wells has been chosen as the GOLD Level Award winner for the 2008 Chancellor’s Customer Service Excellence Award of the Year for the University System of Georgia, according to an announcement from BC President Dr. Tom Wilkerson.

She is to receive her award during the Oct. 14 meeting of the Board of Regents in Atlanta.

“I am delighted to share with you the good news that our own Amy Wells . . .  is (the winner) in the individual efforts category,” Dr. Wilkerson said in his announcement to the college community.

The award recognizes her excellent instruction in mathematics and her unique class scheduling last spring, teaching at 6 a.m. twice a week to serve students who worked all day and had family responsibilities.

“She is the only faculty member in the University System of Georgia to be recognized with the GOLD award this year,” Wilkerson added.
