This morning a truck traveling on 253 North left the roadway and crashed into a tree after apparently hitting a deer.

The crash resulted in one fatality and one occupant was very seriously injured.

Sgt. Marc Godby and Crash Scene

Six hispanic individuals, from south Florida, were traveling in the vehicle.  Several of the men are reported in their mid twenties and one appears to be in his teens.  Sheriff's Deputy Efain Beltran has been on hand through the day translating communication from the men.

The call was dispatched at approximately 7:20 this morning. GSP Sgt. Marc Godby is working the crash.  The SCRT team has also been called to the scene.

Alcohol is said to be a factor in the crash.
