10 Complete BC’s Medical Assisting Program

Ten residents of Southwest Georgia received their certificates for successful completion of the Bainbridge College (BC) Medical Assisting Program, part of the Technical Studies Division.

Students honored in the Aug. 14 evening ceremony at the Main Campus Library were Laskeisha Burke of Decatur County, Cheri Earp, Karen Harrison, both of Brinson; Calla Hartsfield of Bainbridge, Angela Miller of Bainbridge, who also has family in Liberty County; April Gordon of Blakely, who also has family in Albany, Arlington and Bainbridge; Allison Presley of Blakely; Teresa Bostick of Cairo and Veronica Knight of Seminole County, who also has family in Miller County and Albany. Also completing the course but not at the ceremony was Pamela M. Gordon of Bainbridge.

Participating in the program as the featured speaker was Registered Nurse Glenda Hatcher, who is the instructor and director of the Medical Assisting program at Southwest Georgia Technical College in Thomasville. Registered Nurse Rachelle Andreu, who is an instructor in the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program at the BC Early County Site, also spoke to the graduates.

BC President Dr. Tom Wilkerson welcomed the participants and the audience of family members to the special occasion. Graduate Allison Presley of Blakely gave the opening prayer.

Presenting the students to receive their recognition were Technical Studies Division Chair James “Bo” Hylton and Medical Assisting Program Director Sherry Harrison. After Mary Glenn Grimes and Martha Mitchell made a special presentation to the graduates, LPN Director Doris Carmichael gave the closing remarks.
