With the vision of the Bainbridge Marina now a reality, the official ribbon cutting was recently held.

City Manager Chris Hobby welcomed those in attendance. He stated that while there were times when it seemed the project would never be finished today there are over half of the 42 slips rented.

Mayor Mark Harrell welcomed everyone stating, "We're glad to have this day finally here." He recognized those in attendance that had been instrumental in bringing the project to completion.

Mayor Harrell introduced Tonya Mole, Project Manager of One Georgia Authority stating that she was instrumental in getting the seed money for the project. Ms Mole stated that One Georgia Authority "is glad to be a partner in this funding endeavor." Continuing she stated "We think the marina is going to be a great tourism enhancement in economic stimulus for the region."

With that the official ribbon cutting of a project that began over six years ago was complete.
