Hello Bowlers:
Summer has arrived and so have our Summer Leagues, and as usual, big scores abound.

Monday Night Mixed is four weeks into the season, and “Sleven” is in the lead by 2 points over “Haire Bears”.  The big games so far are, 268 by Alan Giles, 258 by me, 248 by Glenn Rykard and 243 rolled by Kyle Medley.  The ladies aren’t doing too badly, either.  Jean Alderman has the best game, 209, followed by Mary Rykard and Evelyn Hughes each with a 198 and Phyllis Collins rolling a 192.  As far as series go, Alan Giles has a 708 to lead the way.  Glenn Rykard had his first 700 series.  “700” on the nose.  Evelyn leads the ladies with a 544 set.

We have an Adult-Youth league this summer, but it’s No-Tap.  That means that nine pins or more knocked down on the first ball counts as a strike.  So, if I write about a 300 being shot in this league, don’t get too excited, it will contain no-tap strikes.  In fact, while writing this, Roger Haire stuck his head in the office to inform me that he just shot one (no-tap 300).  This is a lot of fun for the kids as well as the adults.  Talk about really good scores!  For example the high game for the boys so far is 265 by Alex Brinson.  The best game for the girls is 222 by Amanda Rykard.  “Halo” and “MAN” share first place.

Now for the Big Guns.  Thursday Masters has “Click-Click-Boom” leading by four points over Team #1.  The best games so far are 279, rolled by Alan Giles, 275, by Derick Proulx, 270, by Bret Dal Santo.  The series belongs to Bret Dal Santo with a massive 785 set.  David Beck follows with a 769 series.  The ladies are led by Michelle Kendrick with a 258 game and Evelyn Hughes with a 242.  The best series belongs to Michelle, 645.

That’s it?  I have so much to say, and so little time so I guess it will wait until next time.  See all of you on June 28 for the James Butler Event

Until then, Keep on Bowling
