Three new additions at the South Georgia Judicial Circuit's Office of the Public Defender were recently sworn into the State Bar of Georgia after receiving passing scores on the July 2007 Georgia Bar Examination.

Megan Alison Lane of Colquitt was sworn in by her father, Judge Ronnie Jo Lane of the Pataula Judicial Circuit, in a ceremony on Tuesday, October 30. Ms Lane is a 1999 graduate of Miller County High School in Colquitt and received her bachelor's degree in history from Kennesaw State University. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Georgia School of Law in May of this year.
Jami Lewis Horne of Thomasville and Patrick Ervin Chisholm of Bainbridge were sworn in by Chief Judge A. Wallace Cato at the Decatur County courthouse in a ceremony on November 2.
Ms Horne is a 2001 graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus, and received her bachelor's degree in social science education from the University of Georgia. She received her juris doctorate from the Florida State University College of Law in May of this year.
Mr. Chisholm is a 1998 graduate of Walton High School in Cobb County, and received his bachelor's degree in management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his juris doctorate from the Wake Forest University School of Law in May of this year.
All three attorneys practice criminal law with the Office of the Public Defender for the South Georgia Judicial Circuit, which represents Decatur, Grady, Mitchell, Baker, and Calhoun counties.
