For the third year, students ages 8-18 will have the chance to become  Young Eagles   On September 22 from 8:00 am until 12:00 noon at the airport on Industrial Boulevard, 100 students will have a chance to see the world from a different view.

The program is just one of the events that the Bainbridge High Air Force JROTC has planned for celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Air Force and the 100th anniversary of flight in Georgia.

As in the past, the EAA, the Experimental Aircraft Association out of Tallahassee will provide the planes and pilots. This year they will be bringing 10 planes and the goal is for 100 students to become a Young Eagle. Last year 60 area youth got the chance to soar through the sky.

The event is free of charge. The Bainbridge High JROTC is requesting that when you come for your flight that you bring a new toy that will be added to their annual Toys For Tots drive. Applications are requested before the flight so that times for flights can be scheduled.

Flights must be scheduled ahead of time. Only 100 youth ages 8-18 will be able to participate. You must have an application. If you are late on the day of the event you will probably loose your spot.

For more information and to receive your application, please contact Col. Gary Breedlove at gbreedlove@dcboe.com.
