Getting youth involved in church is a challenge. It seems that Fellowship Baptist Church is up for the challenge. On May 5th they had a Sunday of prayer, fellowship, hamburgers and paintball. Yes, paintball.
Following Sunday School and Church Services, the youth were treated to a hamburger lunch. This was no small under taking. Feeding 50 youth in grades 6 through 12 is a challenge in it's self. With the help of a huge grill, feeding these youth and adults was a breeze. While they were all in one place and eating so they weren't talking, David George, owner of Double D Paintball arrived. He explained to the youth and adults that would be participating the rules and safety issues.
Off to play. Steve Brooks, Youth Minister at Fellowship Baptist, had divided the kids up into 5 teams. Adults also joined the group. After getting all their safety equipment and paintball guns it was off to the fields. Double D has 3 fields that can be used. Then it was on. Paintballs everywhere while the adults stood behind the mesh screen. Not that the kids could hear anyone but the adults still were shouting instructions. The adults on the field seemed to be the main targets.
Everyone had a great time. Fellowship, food and paintballs, an unbeatable combination.
